Regenerating Burnley and Padiham

Funding has been awarded for the repair of Towneley Hall in Burnley as part of the Government’s Cultural Investment Fund. 

Announced by the Arts Council, a grant of £890,000 will help fund essential repair work at the historic Hall through the Museum Estate and Development Fund.

Commenting on the start of work taking place at Pioneer Place Antony Higginbotham MP said:

Work is set to start next week (Monday 24th) on the multi-million pound Pioneer Place leisure complex in Burnley town centre.

Burnley and Padiham MP Antony Higginbotham, has urged local charities and good causes to apply for funding raised by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

Over 3,500 grassroots organisations in Britain will receive a share of almost £17 million this year.

Over £400,000 is being provided to help iconic cultural and heritage organisations in Burnley and Padiham reopen and recover.

In a clear commitment to back science, technology, research and development, innovation and entrepreneurialism the Government is launching the new Advanced Research and Invention Agency.

North West to become one of world’s first low carbon industrial clusters by 2030, with £33 million to create two new onshore and offshore hydrogen projects to power homes and industry.

Passengers across Burnley and Padiham will benefit from a new National Bus Strategy, which will deliver the most ambitious reform to the sector in generations.

Burnley allocated £150,000 to place a bid for up to £20 million of funding from the Levelling Up Fund
£20,000 allocated to allow for a bid for upto £3 million of funding from the Community Renewal Fund
Burnley placed in Priority Group 1 for both schemes.
