Coronavirus has placed a huge strain on businesses across Burnely, Padiham and all our villages. That's why, as we start to emerge from this difficult period, it's important that we support our local businesses.
As places have started to reopen, Antony has been out speaking to shop managers, restaurant owners and pub landlords, using the opportunity to promote what Burnley and Padiham has to offer.
Commenting, Antony said:
"Local businesses are the beating heart of our borough, employing our friends, family and neighbours.
"But times have been incredibly tough with many going months without any income and that's why I launched my Support Local campaign. We have to go out there and help them get back on their feet, including through schemes like Eat Out to Help Out. Because if we don't use them, we'll lose them."
Discover Burnley Town Centre Online
With the latest restrictions meaning many local businesses have had to close their shops in the lead up to Christmas, Antony is supporting the new ‘Discover Burnley Town Centre Online’ which shows customers what services and initiatives businesses are running while nationwide restrictions are in place.
This could include details about deliveries, click and collect or parcels through the post from shops, retailers and traders as well as pubs and bars in the town centre.
Businesses will be able to post offers, news and updates in the group in order to let the people of Burnley know what they are doing to keep going during the lockdown.
