Local MP Antony Higginbotham joined with Burnley and Padiham Police this weekend on a drugs raid in the Colne Road area of Burnley.
Commenting Antony Higginbotham MP said:
In December 2019 I promised to get more police officers out on our streets and that’s exactly what we're doing.
A year into the drive to recruit 20,000 more police officers across the country, we have received an extra 199 in Lancashire alone with hundreds more due over the coming years. As a result, the Burnley and Padiham Neighbourhood Policing Team has got extra officers on the beat, working with local communities to tackle the crimes that matter most to us like anti-social behaviour and drug dealing.
Tackling crime and anti social behaviour is a number one priority for a lot of residents and it was good to join the police as they take action against criminality in the area.
PS Vic Bramley, of Burnley and Padiham Police, said:
This warrant has been as a result of information received directly from our local community and I hope our robust action reassures the community that we will continue to target people involved in the supply of drugs to keep our communities safe.
"Information can be passed to the team a number of ways: You can call us on 101 or information can be reported anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers: 0800 555 111; you can e-mail the team directly on BurnleyNBHTaskforce@lancashire.police.uk Or via Lancashire Talking where you can sign up for policing alerts in your area.
