A personal word from Antony following today's news:
As you will have seen the Prime Minister has now called a General Election for the 4th July which means as I seek another 4 years as your MP I will be fighting for every vote.
Over the course of the past 4 years I’ve put my heart and soul into bringing something different to Burnley and Padiham. Making sure that for the first time in a long time our views are not ignored in Parliament. And that investment pours in to level up parts of our borough which had been left to rot for years on end.
We’ve tried a Labour MP and had nothing but managed decline. That’s why we needed change!
In this election all I ask is that you judge me, not on the actions of anybody else - but on what I have delivered for us here in Burnley and Padiham. Because we’ve achieved a tremendous amount over the past few years which is seeing our area transforming before our eyes. But 4 years was never enough to reverse the long decline accepted by Labour MPs disinterested in what Burnley and Padiham can be.
My message has always and will always be one of optimism for the future. Providing a better life for all of us in this part of the world. As we get closer to election day itself I’ll be putting forward my case for why we need to continue on this journey of change. And I hope you can come out and support me in that.
