Following a recent online survey 86% of Burnley and Padiham residents who responded told Antony Higginbotham MP that the TV Licence should be scrapped.
And when asked to score from 0 to 10 on the value for money of the TV licence, 80% scored 5 or below.
Antony Higginbotham:
I know many residents are angry with the BBC's decision to renege on their decision to fund TV licences for the over 75s, particularly having asked the Government to close the loophole for online viewing to increase the income it receives.
Many people too have questioned the value for money from the Licence Fee, especially given the number of repeats that continue to be shown and the bias it too often shows.
The results of the survey I conducted are clear and it shows that people in Burnley and Padiham do not feel the BBC Licence Fee provides good value for money and that they want it scrapped.
Over 175 people have taken part in the survey, 165 from the constituency.
The survey is still open. You can complete it below.
