Local Member of Parliament Antony Higginbotham visited Padiham Primary School this week as part of his School Tour, giving pupils the opportunity to quiz him on his role as an MP.

This week has seen me undertake a real mix of activities. After fulfilling my Parliamentary duties at the start of the week, I arrived back in Burnley slightly earlier than usual. And education has been front and centre. 

Springfield Community Primary School was delighted to welcome back local MP Antony Higginbotham to take part in their Breakfast Club and Lancashire Walks to School Day.

He greeted the children as they arrived and chatted with them over breakfast before the walk.

The Conservative Government is investing an extra £2 billion into schools this year and next, with every state school in England benefitting, and schools across Burnley and Padiham receiving £2,642,208 in extra funding.

The Government has extended the provision of 30 free hours of childcare a week to all working parents of children aged 9 months until they start school – helping more parents take on the work that is right for them.
