IMPROVING EDUCATION

Burnley College has been given the green light to expand its education campus on Princess Way with a new 20,450 sq ft industrial hub and three educational buildings on six acres of land along the River Calder.

Whether in Parliament, or in the borough, Antony is working night and day to make sure that opportunities are expanded across the whole of Burnley and Padiham.

This comes at a time when Burnley College is seeing significant expansion through further Government investment and a successful proposal to become an Institute of Technology.

Employers across Burney and Padiham will be able to claim a £1,000 cash boost for every T Level student they host on a high-quality industry placement, as part of a new incentive scheme launched by the Government.

Schools, colleges and universities can now apply for funding to allow students to study and work across the world as part of the Government’s new Turing Scheme.

Lancashire County Council has now received 16,766 laptops and tablets to help support disadvantaged children and young people while they learn at home.
More than 1 million laptops and tablets have now been delivered, with more on the way. 

Meet Georgia, Antony Higginbotham's new apprentice. After successfully completing her A Levels she decided to take on an apprenticeship in Business Administration and has been working in Antony's constituency office whilst attending Burnley College one day a week.

The Government has announced landmark reforms that will transform post-16 education and training. The aim is to boost skills across the country, helping people get into work and reshaping how training is delivered with a greater emphasis on skills needed by employers.
