The Coronavirus pandemic has touched everyone in some way or other, and in times of crisis it is important for communities to come together to support and protect each other. All across the country we have seen acts of kindness with neighbours helping neighbours and people going above and beyond.
Burnley is no different with many individuals and organisations, both public and private, stepping up to help those in need.
“I have been absolutely blown away at how well Burnley, Padiham and our surrounding villages has responded to the crisis” says Antony. “We’ve seen so many acts of kindness and a real feeling that we will look after those who need it. Those who have gone above and beyond deserve recognition as they are the unsung heroes”.
There are countless cases of individuals and other organisations stepping up to help in whatever way they can. Whether that be delivering food to vulnerable people, taking PPE to those on the front line, donating food, drink and other materials to our key workers, cheering up the town by playing music, running competitions and much more - Burnley and Padiham has hundreds of unsung heroes!
Antony is asking for nominations for those who deserve recognition for their actions in response to COVID-19 and has an online form which he will use to issue certificates of recognition and also will be celebrating their achievements online.
