Improving the quality of our roads can reduce journey times, improve road safety and boost our local economy, as well ending the frustration we all feel when we get stuck in traffic or hit a pothole.
As I get a significant volume of correspondence into my office about road works and potholes, I have created the above map (last updated February 2021) to show the major highways improvements that are scheduled to take place in the coming months, as well as those recently completed, across Burnley and Padiham. The vast majority of these are being undertaken by Lancashire County Council and range from road re-surfacing and pothole repair, to kerb dropping. Also included is work undertaken by third parties but where road closures, or traffic signals might be needed.
If you want to see the full list of all work being undertaken on our roads which might not include road closures or traffic signals, including by contractors like BT, Virgin Media, and Cadent Gas, please click here to be taken to the Lancashire County Council portal.
I also want to get your views on the work being undertaken, the quality of this work and whether it is fast enough. I have therefore included a short survey below. The answers to this helps to inform my discussions with Ministers and the Highways Department at Lancashire County Council.
